Too fat for the OB?

Some ob-gyns in South Florida turn away overweight women

 In a nation with 93 million obese people, a few ob-gyn doctors in South Florida now refuse to see otherwise healthy women solely because they are overweight.

  1. The article says that the doctors refuse to treat these "otherwise healthy women," but there is no such thing as being "otherwise healthy" where obesity is concerned. The bottom line is that, yes, these women may not have diabetes or cardiovascular disease YET, but obesity involves every body system and puts tremendous strain on the body and impedes normal function. The risk of complications is considerably higher and while it may seem "rude" or slightly unethical, I see the point.
