I taught my oldest daughter that 3-2-1 timeout means business by being super-strict with timeouts when we first started doing it. Now, I never even make it to 1... 3 and 2 are all she needs to hear to know she has to listen. and I can still teach her about counting up from 1 without worrying about sending mixed messages. It may not be very out-of-the-box, but it works so I figured it's worth sharing!

The one about off time really makes sense to me.
I belive that kids are never too young to realize that schedules and time management are a monumental part of life.
